In Liscarroll town you will find the large 13th Century Anglo-Norman fortress, Liscarroll Castle. Not far past the castle is the Donkey Sanctuary. Admission is free and opening hours are Mon-Fri 9.00am to 4.30pm and Sat-Sun and Bank Holidays 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Between Galbally and Tipperary town you will ascend Slievenamuck and pass through a forest trail with stunning views over the Glen of Aherlow and the Galtee Mountains. The Christ the King statue overlooks the valley. You will find an ancient ogham stone nearby at the Aherlow House Hotel.
